1. Document manufacturing
This is the planner's planning document, which is then processed into a production document that can be directly printed.
2. Sample making
For initial customized printing packaging boxes, digital samples are generally required, and for stricter cases, even actual samples are required to be printed by a printing machine. However, during the process of printing digital samples, there may be differences in color with the digital samples during mass printing, and printing actual samples can ensure consistency in color during mass production.
When it comes to some docking, it is important to make it clear that the default is to make a digital sample. If you want to make a sample on the machine, it should be agreed in advance, and the price can also be distinguished: the digital price is cheap, while the machine price is expensive.
3. Plate making
The plate making process is crucial, as it directly affects the integrity of the product. Nowadays, skills have also been greatly improved. Most manufacturers use digital machines to make plates, and generally require plate printing, printing, and repair.
Gift boxes are exquisite in appearance, grandeur, and class, so the layout colors of packaging boxes are also diverse. Generally, a gift box of a certain style has not only four basic colors, but also several spot colors, such as special red, special blue, black, gold, silver, etc.
4. Selecting Paper
The gift box of a general packaging box has a gray cardboard inside and a colored paper or special paper outside.
Colored paper is made of double copper and matte copper paper. And some of the materials we discussed earlier are also possible. Some use paper weighing 128G, 157G, and 200G, which are commonly used. It is rare to use colored paper weighing over 200G on the outside of gift boxes. Due to the thickness of the colored paper, it is easy to blister when mounted on the gift box, and it looks stiff when viewed from the outside.
Inner mounting paper refers to selecting appropriate double gray paper according to customer needs, commonly known as gray board paper or gray cardboard.
Of course, it also depends on what the product is, planning the outer packaging based on the product, and then selecting paper and craftsmanship. These are usually confirmed during the sampling process.
5. Printing process
Gift boxes are made using only printing paper, which is usually exquisitely crafted. Many of them are spot color printed, and there are also many customized processes (such as hot stamping, embossing, UV, etc.)
Gift boxes are outer packaging boxes, which require careful printing techniques and avoid color differences. Ink dots and rotten boards can all affect aesthetic perception.
6. Surface treatment of colored paper
The outer surface of packaging boxes and gift boxes should be treated with surface paper, commonly including gloss glue, matte glue, UV, gloss oil, matte oil, hot stamping, and so on.
7. Die-cutting
Die cutting is a very important part of printing technology, and it must be done accurately to not affect subsequent work. The key is to manufacture the cutting die. The process of knife mold is also important. If the knife mold is not accurate in your planning documents, it will also have a significant impact on the product. Therefore, when manufacturing the knife mold, you usually take the printed product to the knife mold master to create alignment, or you can personally follow up on the order.
8. Paper mounting process
Generally, printed materials are first mounted and then die cut into shape. The only way to manufacture gift boxes is to die cut and then mount colored paper (face paper). The main reasons are: 1) to avoid damaging the colored paper, and 2) to ensure the overall aesthetics of gift boxes, the exquisite craftsmanship can only be seen by mounting the outer colored paper.
9. Packaging
If buttoning and punching are required, they are all completed during assembly. If these packaging box processes are not used, the surface should be cleaned (by wiping off the adhesive on the surface with sewage), and then the packaging can be delivered.
